"Baa Baa Black Sheep" Children's Book illustrated and written by Iza Trapani
"Trapani takes an
old rhyme and adds her own spin to it . . . The illustrations
are pleasing and expressions on the faces engaging."
School Library Journal
The classic children's
rhyme is the beginning of a greater story. If the black sheep
has 3 bags full, then why won't she share some of her good fortune
with others? The barnyard kittens ask for some of her "smooth
milk," but black sheep won't share any. The horse want's
to buy some hay, but will have to get some money to pay her.
But Black sheep says no. No bones for the dog, no seed for the
birds. The animals are all upset that she won't share. But what
do they find out? That black sheep has been knitting wool garments
for the animals. She is sharing what she can share best!
