The Tower Treasure by
Franklin W. Dixon
Unabridged
audio book (books on tape). Read by Bill Irwin.
Did you our your kids read this great mystery
series when you were growing. Now it is available on audiobook
to entertain a new generation. Great for trips in the car or
summer listening fun. The first five stories are now available.
"After 60 years and millions of books
sold, the original Hardy Boys series is now on audio. In this
first audio selection, Joe and Frank hear that a dying criminal
has confessed that his loot has been stashed "in the tower,"
and soon they make an astonishing discovery."
Historical note: Some believe that Franklin W. Dixon
and Carolyn Keene are the pen names for Edward L. Stratemeyer
who originally began the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew series. It
was said that his daughters updated and continued the series
after their father's death in 1930. Stratemeyer was a very good
businessman. As often happens, some work for little in the background
while others reap the greater benefits. Such can be the life
of aspiring authors. According to the Toledo Blade, the true
author of the first 20-some Nancy Drew titles was Mildred
Benson who worked
for the Toledo Blade. Interesting history for a great series.
The Nancy
Drew series on audiobooks
is also available for the early stories.
