"Cock-A-Doodle
Dudley"
Children's
Book by Bill Peet
A delightful story about
Dudley the rooster who greets old Sol, the sun each morning with
great crowing. The barnyard animals think his crowing is magical,
but the goose doesn't. One day the goose exposes Dudley and
he has to agree that he has no magical power. But the rest of
the animals say they are ordinary too!. The goose does not give
up and trys to peck the rooster and chases him into the woods.
There Dudley is chased by a fox and owl. Strangely the next morning, the
sun does not rise. Old Sol wants to hear Dudley cros. When the
horse finds out that the goose chased
Dudley into the woods, he goes and finds Dudley and brings him
back to crow and raise the sun again.
