"Hamsters to the
Rescue" by Ellen Stoll Walsh
Meet Henry and Pell, two furry heroes who
discover the meaning of perseverance and courage!
"Never mind that Henry and Pell are
just a couple of hamsters. They may be little, but they have
a big mission -- and nothing they encounter along the way can
stop them. Not steep sand dunes. Not cranky crabs. Not even an
enormous scary seagull!"
Henry and Pell find a seagull feather on
the beach and try to find the seagull to return the feather -
maybe he needs it to fly? They meet a hermit
crab, fiddler crab, and eventually the seagull along their
journey. The seagull is thankful for them bringing the feather
but says that he grows new ones. He even gives small feathers
to Henry and Pell that are just right for them to pretend they
are seagulls and can fly.
