The True Story of Jackson
the Owl
"This is a true story about a great
horned owl named Jackson who chose his adopted human family over
his natural instincts to live in the wild. Jackson was born in
the wild with owl parents that cared for him and his owl siblings
in a nest high in the branches of a giant tree. One day, a young
boy climbed the tree and captured Jackson in a burlap bag and
took him home. The boy soon realized that caring for a wild animal
was a lot of work and that owls wre not intended to be pets.
Gijsbert (Nick), a kind man with a special license to care for
owls, was contacted and took Jackson home to his family where
they cared for him until he was old enough and strong enough
to be set free. " Click on book image to see sample
