"Good Night Gorilla" by Peggy Rathmann
This children's board book
is a charming bed time story. The simple text and colorful pictures
tell the story of the zoo keeper that is checking the animals
at night. His first stop is to say good night to the Gorilla.
As he walks away, the gorilla picks the zoo keeper's pocket and
unlocks his cage. Follow along the story as the zoo keeper says
good night to one after another of the animals and the gorilla
and each new animal follows the zoo keeper home.
The critters all wind up
in the zoo keepers bedroom. When the wife says good night, the
animals all say good night. O my goodness. The wife gets up,
leads the animals back to the zoo and goes back to bed - but
she doesn't see that the gorilla is right back there with them.
Very cute story and a perfect
fit with one of the smaller gorilla puppets.
This book is now available
in Spanish, "Buenas Noches Gorila" board
